Below you will find complete details including camp locations, times, and answers to common questions we receive from parents.

We are in our 7th season of offering these camps for ages 5 thru 12 and now offer the program in Lebanon, York, Adams, Lancaster, Cumberland & Dauphin Counties. We are constantly striving to improve the way they are conducted by using valuable feedback from parents, participants, & coaches. These non-profit based camps benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The primary goal of this program is to teach basic sports skills while promoting youth fitness in a fun, non-intimidating manner. Each camp begins with warm-up calisthenics, followed by sports drill stations. Flag football players spend the last 20 to 30 minutes of each Saturday session playing scrimmage games against each other. Cheerleaders learn basic jumps, chants & cheers throughout the program. Due to the huge variance in skill levels of the participants, we try to start all of the drill stations by teaching the beginning stage fundamentals and then progress quickly throughout the camp to more advanced skills. One of the things that we place a high importance on is keeping the kids moving as much as possible during each Saturday session.

On the final day of camp there is a home or away game played against one of the other camps. The football players play games against the same age groups from the other camp. Cheerleaders perform the routines they learned along the sideline during the games. Please keep in mind that this camp is not a competitive league. All participants will be eligible to sign up for a competitive tournament held at the end of the season.

Though we do have at least 1 to 2 paid camp directors at each location, like most youth sports programs, we always have many great volunteer parent coaches helping out. If you have any desire to learn more about coaching youth sports, this is a great place to start as we provide national youth coaching workshops as well as complete instruction on the skills we teach in the camp.

As part of this program we offer a youth physical fitness awards program where each participant will be eligible to earn a fitness certificate upon completion of all the requirements necessary. Forms will be handed out on day 1 of camp.

Common Questions & Answers

Q: What does the camp registration fee cover?
A: Though we do sponsor these camps as a service to the community, we have to               charge the small registration fee to help cover the many expenses involved with this       program including field rentals, liability insurance, equipment, participant shirts &           awards, camp director fees, etc.

Q: What days is the camp held on and how long does it run for?
A: The camp is held on Saturdays only and runs for 6 weeks.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?
A: During inclement weather, camp will be postponed and moved forward 1 week. Any      cancellations will be posted on this website. Please note that we will only cancel              during heavy rain, thunder or lightning.

Q: What should my child wear to the camp?
A: All participants should wear comfortable clothing such as sweat pants or shorts              along with the camp t-shirt he/she will receive on the first day.

Q: Does my child have to wear football cleats?
A: Cleats are recommended but not required. Metal cleats are not allowed.

Q: What should my child bring to the camp?
A: A water bottle is highly recommended. A mouth piece is recommended for all flag          football players.

Q: Do I have to stay at the field or may I drop my child off?
A: Dropping off your child is fine as long as you return by the camp end time for pickup.

Q: Can my child miss any of the camp days?
A: We ask that everyone try their best to attend all 6 Saturdays but realize this is                  sometimes not possible due to other obligations. If your child misses a day, please        see the camp director the following week to get any handouts that may have been          given.

Q: Where will the game be on the last day of camp?
A: The game against a different camp will be on day 6 and will either be a home game       at the same field or an away game at the other camp's field. Full details will be               posted soon and reminder slips with directions will be handed out at camp.

Q: My child has never played an organized sport before. Will this camp be okay?
A: This program is great for those just starting out as well as a skill refinement for those      who have played many different sports. We usually keep the participants in separate      age groups but if your child is more advanced, he/she may move up with an older          group.
